Les Denis in Montreal???

I was walking down St-Cathrine on Saturday night to meet Jeff and Jolyne for dinner, and to my suprise what do I see? Les Denis here in Montreal. Wow, maybe he's here for Just for Laughs I thought, maybe this is part of his comeback, after his triumphant stint in Extras. Or was he going to give us all a lecture on how to deal with depression, or was he here for a pantomime.

Then I got closer to the sign and saw that there was more, it was the angle I was walking up St-Cathrines, turns out it's a singer/band called Les Denis Drolet, not the legend that is Les Denis. Gutted!

Where have I been?

Where have I been for the past 2 weeks? It's been a while since my last update, the answer is simple... Nothing much.

Ok so there was Jolyne's suprise birthday last Saturday, which was fun, as she's off to South Africa for a few weeks to attend a wedding. Then there has been a few (alright lot's) of drinking, a little more than we should of maybe. But no harm done. Assassin's is coming to a head which is where the majority of my time has been spent, things are going well and I'm looking forward to the end product. Should be interesting to see the reaction once it's finally out the door.

Want to my first festival of the season the Montreal Highlights Festival, which was a suprising night out, which involved trampolining, roasted sausages on the bonfire, dancing and of course beer. Oh and I bought Crackdown for my 360, and been hammering that. Guns, High Jumping, and Explosions!!!! BRING IT!!!!

That actually sounds a lot more when written down. But thats about it, we have our first competative basketball game against EA montreal next week.

Go Hab's, Go!!!

Tuesday night, saw me attend my first Montreal Canadiens game, or "Habs" as they are called here, ironically this was the same day that the owner of the Canadiens bought Liverpool FC as well in a deal reportedlly worth over $600 million, so technically I was helping my beloved LFC by attending this game.

The atmosphere was electric, were as the atmosphere at the Maple Leafs game was good, the Habs took it to a different level, I've never seen anything like it, again like with all other north american sports there was plenty of over the top presentation, and loads of stuff for the kids. But I have to admit I love it, not sure if it would fit with some of the Premiership clubs, but still they do know how to put on an event. I resisted the temptation of $10 beers, and opted for a Timmy's coffee with timbits. Alot more reasonable.

Unfortunately the Habs ended up on the wrong side of a 2 - 1 scoreline, but... I saw my first fight on the ice... awesome, love the fact that it's legal to fight during the game (albeit a 5 minute penalty), but with 22,000 habs fans screaming it's hard not to get excited.

Pandora's Box

Being able to listen to music at work is great, and having 1600 other people to 'leech' off is also pretty useful, but there is only so much music on the network.

I have been pointed in the direction of this site which is completely legal and acts like a radio station. Maybe everyone already knows about it and I'm just behind the times, eitherway it's definately worth a look.

It works by asking you for either an artist or song and then the site will find songs of a similar style and create an entire radio channel of them, it plays the entire song and not just a taster, the more you listen the more the site recognises your musical tastes and starts suggesting songs and bands you might like. It seems like a really easy way of listening to new music, and if you like certain songs, you can buy them and play them in your iTunes.
